Between holiday campaigns, thematic promotions, competitions and new editorial departments, Dwell’s digital design needs are always evolving. Here are a few campaigns that required their own identity.
Dwell Design Awards 2021
Dwell’s Design Award is a juried competition that highlights the best projects featured in Dwell that year, from residential architecture, to renovations, pre-fabs, kitchens, gardens, and more. This campaign included a unique landing page, jury announcement, audience voting, the winners reveal, and promotion on email and social media.
Dwell Guides
The visual system for Dwell Guides includes illustrated spots, expressive illustrations and custom icons. The guides themselves are meant to give a general overview on the topics as opposed to a deep, technical dive. We wanted the tone to be light, fun, inviting and upbeat. Hannah Warren’s irreverent illustration style was a perfect fit.
Dwell Holiday Gift 2021
The visual system for Dwell’s Holiday gift guides include a hero landing page with an illustrated cover, about 30 product-driven shop article covers, banner ads, article promotion on social media, and a holiday newsletter. We commissioned the hero illustration and spots from Miguel Monkc for multiple uses. We wanted a stylized, refined yet irreverent tone. I used a strict color palette to brand the gift guides.
Dwell Holiday Gift 2023
For the 2023 Gift Guide we worked with the playful and geometric illustrator Parapaboom (Vanessa Branchi) to create a stylized look. Assets included a landing page, social media promotion, subscription promotion, and banner ads.
