This book is a collaboration by teen-centric, YouTube personalities, galvanized by Hunter March. They write about various teenage experiences in order to help other teens “figure it out.” I wanted to create a youthful and energetic design, so I commissioned Annica Lydenberg to hand-letter the contributors names on the cover. For the interior, I utilized a hand-lettering style for essay titles and I painted over personal photos submitted by the writers to create a warm and playful aesthetic. Hand-drawn elements are paired with large, bold, sans-serif type on the captions for a vigorous appearance, keeping the overall design from looking childish.
